• Messages and interactions (including chat with Krumbly)

B. Media & Metadata (Photos/Videos)

When you upload or capture media, we may process:

• Timestamps (when the photo was taken)
• Location data (if embedded in the file)
• Device metadata (limited to what's needed for organization)

We use this to:

• Organize your trip timeline
• Suggest moments and locations
• Build your Trip Story

C. Location Data

We may collect precise location data, including in the background if you grant permission, to detect places you visit, generate trip timelines, and suggest moments automatically.

If enabled, we may collect:

• Foreground location (when using the app)
• Background location (only with explicit permission)

We use this to:

• Detect places you visit (e.g., restaurants, landmarks)
• Suggest moments automatically
• Improve trip timelines

You can turn this off anytime.

D. Usage & Interaction Data

• Features you use
• Actions taken (e.g., saving a place, inviting a friend)
• Engagement signals (likes, comments, bookmarks)

We use this to:

• Personalize recommendations
• Improve the product experience

E. Social Graph Data

• Friends you connect with
• Shared trips and collaborations

4. AI & Data Usage

We use AI to enhance your experience, but with strict boundaries.

What we do

• Use AI to process your inputs and provide suggestions
• Share only the minimum data necessary with trusted AI service providers to generate responses. These providers are contractually restricted from using your data for their own purposes.

What we do not do

• We do not train our global AI models on your personal data
• We do not sell your data to AI companies

Retention

• AI interactions may be stored temporarily to improve your experience
• You can delete associated data through your workspace controls

5. Sharing Your Data

We only share data when necessary. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

A. With Your Consent

When you share trips or invite collaborators. Content you share may be visible to users you grant access to, such as collaborators or members of your selected circles.

B. Service Providers

We work with trusted providers for:

• Infrastructure (e.g., cloud hosting)
• Analytics
• AI processing
• Payments (if applicable)

We only share the minimum data required.

C. Legal Requirements

We may disclose data if required by law.

6. Your Controls

You are in control of your data at all times. You can:

• View what we've stored (Memory / Workspace data)
• Delete individual items or entire trips
• Turn off location tracking
• Export your data
• Delete your account completely

Deleting your account removes your data from our systems. Certain data may be retained for a limited period for security, fraud prevention, and legal compliance purposes.

7. Data Retention

We retain data only as long as needed:

• Account data: until you delete your account
• Trips & media: until you delete them
• Logs & system data: limited retention (e.g., 30 to 90 days)
• AI interaction data: short-term retention only

8. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your data, including:

• Encryption in transit
• Access controls
• Secure cloud infrastructure

No system is perfect, but we design with security and privacy first.

9. Children's Privacy

Breadkrumb is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their data.
