September 26, 2026 · How I answered the question of lasting impact

Build a trip entirely out of things people have already told you.

Hi, it's Sho.

I had the honor of attending the Empowered for Impact conference (hosted by the amazing Wura Grant) last weekend, where I sat on a panel with a lot of talented minds.

One question from the audience stayed with me. We were asked to fill in the blank at the end of the panel discussion. My impact would have mattered if ____________.

My answer?

It would have mattered if people felt emboldened to experience God's world, its peoples and its cultures, in ways they never would have before.

That truly is what success looks like to me.

More people inspired by the people they know, and what one traveler learned passing to the next with nothing lost along the way.

One idea, and this one is for you rather than about us.

Try building a trip entirely out of things people have already told you from their trip experience. No searching, no lists, no algorithm.

Open your messages and search your own history for the places friends have sent you. Search "you have to go to." Search "we loved." Search the name of the city you are thinking about. Then scroll your saved videos and screenshots, which is where most of the good ones went to die.

Do it for a couple of minutes and you will find more than you expect, because people have been recommending things to you for years and you have been losing them at the same rate.

What comes is a trip built entirely from people who know you, which is a different thing from a trip built from four thousand strangers who rated a restaurant. A well curated trip better than anything a search would give you.

That is the whole idea behind what we are making, and you do not need us to try it. You just need your own message history and a free afternoon.

One thing we shipped this week.

You can now paste a travel link on our website and see the places come out of it, without making an account.

That is the entire thing. Paste a reel, a blog post, a list somebody sent you. It reads through it and gives you the places it mentions, on a map. Nothing to download, nothing to sign up for, nothing to cancel.

We built it because asking somebody to create an account before they have seen anything work is a bad trade, and we were making it.

One ask.

One you saved months ago and never opened again. That is it.

If it works, you will have your first places. If it does not, reply to this email and tell me what you pasted, because that is more useful to me than almost anything else you could send.

Sho

P.S. If a friend sent you this, Breadkrumb is a private space for keeping and sharing travel ideas with people you trust. We're in both app stores now.
